But you must learn to become conscious of His presence and sensitive to His dealings. There are moments when you are asking God for direction while ignoring the One Jesus sent to guide you. You may be waiting for a dramatic sign, another prophecy or someone to tell you what to do, while the Holy Spirit is already prompting your heart. Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). And the only way to have access to the Holy Spirit is in you being born again under the authority of Jesus. Just like humans can't survive without an oxygen, so the Holy Spirit can not function or exist outside the Scriptures. The word of God is the only life He survives on and it is the only tool He uses for operation. There is nothing the Holy Spirit can do outside the scriptures.
